Chef Will Uhlhorn
Will Uhlhorn, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, has served as Executive Chef for
F. Scott’s Restaurant & Jazz Bar since 2005. Recognizing the importance of blending his passion for French cuisine with that of using the freshest and highest quality ingredients, he strives to promote local farmers and use local ingredients, fostering relationships between chefs and growers in the Middle Tennessee area.
Chef Uhlhorn received his Associates degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York in 1999.
While studying German at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, he worked in his first kitchen at the now highly recognized City Grocery Restaurant, and assisted the Chef with a meal at the James Beard House.
Will came home to Memphis after his time in Mississippi and continued working in his newly found passion, cooking. He cooked at Automatic Slim’s, Ithaca Restaurant, and Sekisui Restaurant, where he also trained for three months under a Japanese master sushi chef.
After graduating from CIA in 1999, Will moved to Boston, Massachusetts. He worked at some of the city’s more renowned restaurants, including Hamersley’s Bistro, East Coast Grill, Harvest Restaurant, and Salamander, where he again assisted the Chef with a meal at the James Beard House.
Prior to joining F. Scott’s, Will held positions at The Wild Boar as Chef de Cuisine, and Belle Meade Brasserie as Executive Chef in Nashville, TN
